AFTER CARE ADVICE: THE DO'S AND DON’TS

ANTI-WRINKLES - DON'T

  • Do not massage or rub the treated area for 3 days: No “facials”.
  • Do not practice vigorous exercise, avoid sweating.
  • Do not expose to the Sun or have sunbathing (including using sunbeds).
  • Do not have any sauna for 2 days and avoid extreme heat on the treatment area (some sources of extreme heat are hair removal procedures, as lasers, IPL, hot wax, or even a hair dryer, etc).
  • Do not go to the hairdresser for 2 days, including having dyes for the hair.
  • Do not apply makeup immediately after the treatment.
  • Avoid contact with possible sources of infection on the area.
ANTI-WRINKLES - DO 
  • Do have normal life, meaning there is no problem with a glass of wine, for example.
  • Do wait for some days for the effect to appear.
  • Any bruising should settle down in a few days.

HYPERHIDROSIS - DON'T

  • Do not practice vigorous exercise, avoid sweating.
  • Do not expose to the Sun or have sunbathing (including using sunbeds) for some days.
  • Do not have any sauna for some days and avoid extreme heat on the treated area (some sources of extreme heat are hair removal procedures, as lasers, IPL, hot wax, or even a hair dryer, etc).
  • Do not go to the hairdresser for 2 days, including having dyes for the hair, if the treated area was forehead.
  • Do not have direct contact with any sources of contamination for some hours. This is especially important on hands, so avoid contaminated products, as soil, or doing gardening, or touching pets.

HYPERHIDROSIS - DO 

  • Wait for some days to start the effect of the product
  • Enjoy life with much less sweating, typically 70% to 80% less sweating
DERMAL FILLERS - DON'T
  • Do not massage the area, except if you were given specific instruction to do it.
  • Do not apply makeup immediately after the treatment. Wait for some hours.
  • Do not expose to the Sun or have sunbathing (including using sunbeds).
  • Avoid contact with possible sources of infection on the area.
DERMAL FILLERS - DO
  • Do have normal life, meaning there is no problem with a glass of wine, for example.
  • The affected area may be a bit red, sore and swollen for some hours.  
  • Any swelling or bruising should settle down in a few days, about 1 week usually. 
  • If you feel uncomfortable after the treatment, a cold pack could be applied, and also you could take a Paracetamol as a painkiller  (if there is no allergy to the product or other known contraindication).
  • In case of any other symptom, as redness, changes in the colour of the skin, pain, or any other unusual reaction, please call promptly to the clinic to assess the condition.


CONTRAINDICATIONS

GENERAL CONTRAINDICATIONS

  • PREGNANCY, AND BREASTFEEDING
  • CANCER: Ongoing illness under treatment
  • ALLERGIES: Very intense allergies
  • HEALTH ISSUES: Currently existing health issues of importance.
SPECIFIC CONTRAINDICATIONS
  • Allergies to the products, as allergy to lidocaine, or any of the compounds in the products, including egg or chicken, or certain proteins.
  • Certain neurological diseases, you need to give that information during the consultation
  • Active autoimmune diseases, Lupus, and other conditions,  you need to give that information during the consultation
  • Active infection in the area of treatment.
  • Some medication may be contraindicated to take concomitantly, please inform during the consultation. 
COMPLICATIONS & SIDE EFFECTS: COMMON FROM ANY PROCEDURE
  • Pain and discomfort
  • Bruising
  • Swelling
COMPLICATIONS & SIDE EFFECTS: SPECIFIC FOR SOME PROCEDURES
  • FILLERS:
    • Vascular occlusion, necrosis, blindness. If the filler is injected into a facial vessel it could lead to the mentioned complications. It is a very infrequent complication that can be prevented with the right technique and avoided/treated  with specific treatment with hyalase.
    • Infection, avoidable with the adequate aseptic technique
    • Allergic reaction, that will need additional treatment
    • Other specific from the product, as itching.
  • ANTI WRINKLE INJECTIONS
    • Palpebral ptosis, meaning a temporary impairment or alteration of the muscle movement at the eyelids. It will recover from the situation in some weeks usually. 
    • Infection, avoidable with the adequate aseptic technique
    • Palpebral oedema or swelling,  as a consequence of the limitation to lymphatic drainage. It will recover in some days/weeks
    • Allergic reaction, needing specific treatment
